Seeking a Sr.

Systems Engineer / Space PM to support development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.

This handpicked candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with developing, designing, building, and integrating aerospace hardware and software.

In this position, you will provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to a Government program office established for development and fielding of critical capabilities for the space enterprise.You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program.

Engineering responsibilities span technology domains including space rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment.

This candidate will provide SETA support in system design, development, and test to the Program Manager.

You must apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified and SWAP-C constrained systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.SETA Role and Responsibilities:+ Support government oversight and decisions in development of satellite vehicle, subsystems, software development, manufacturing, integration, and test+ Provide in-depth, dedicated technical expertise to support design, implementation & verification activities for the system+ Provide analysis of contractor provided artifacts and advice/recommendations system design reviews, subsystem design, software design, test, risk management, and integration activities+ Provide support for Interface Control Document (ICD) development and management+ Provide technical assistance in developing, refining, decomposition, allocation and verification of ground and SV requirements+ Independently define, assist, advise, or guide issue resolution or projects+ Employ highly specialized knowledge or experience to anticipate challenges+ Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy—oral and writtenRequired Skills:+ Minimum ten (10) years of relevant classified DoD work experience+ Proven Experience in spacecraft, or highly autonomous unmanned systems+ Knowledge in using sensors to support space-to-space missions (i.e.

rendezvous and proximity operations)+ Proven experience integrating subsystems such as sensor suites, PNT, survivability, and network communications into systems to achieve desired effects+ Experience in RF SATCOM (Laser desired) crosslinks+ Knowledge of spacecraft engineering, development, and manufacturing+ Knowledge of spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test (AI)–comms, propulsion, bus, power and environmental+ Experience with ground mission planning architecture and software+ Experience in planning and executing test campaigns for space mission systems+ Knowledge of Defense Acquisition System (DoDI 5000.02)+ Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)Desired Skills:+ Ten (10) years of relevant DoD work experience with SAP and/or SCI; recent CI Polygraph+ System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to a Government program office+ Demonstrated knowledge of embedded software for autonomous space operations+ Demonstrated knowledge of payload functionality and interface+ Demonstrated technical program management in space systems+ Experience leading software algorithm development teams+ Experience using multivariable optimization in mission planning software systems+ Experience in DoD or IC program management including Integrated Master Schedules, and risk managementMinimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution, with major/focus in physics, aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or other technical area.

Clearance:Current TS/SCI (SCI eligibility) with SAR/RSV experience within last 5 years, and candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employmentTravel Requirements: Full-time, on site in Chantilly, VA with up to 20% CONUS travel.
