Assures the provision of patient care, by addressing performance, risk management, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate.

As a clinical nurse, the charge nurse spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.* Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, an Associate’s Degree in Nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a Bachelors Degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
