ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Compensation Range: $26.22 – $43.40 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree preferred.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
4 East is a 28 bed adult cardiology unit. Though designated acute care this unit is benchmarked as an intermediate care unit due to patient complexity. Patients admitted to 4 East present with chest pain, unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, rhythm disturbance, heart failure/cardiomyopathy, etc. Nurses in this unit provide Pre & Post Procedural care for acute cardiology patients: cardiac catheterization (diagnostic & intervention w/ sheath pull), Electrophysiology (ablations, pacemaker insertions, ICD placement) and Angiography patients. 4 East is the destination for patients receiving minimalist valve procedures. In addition 4 East maintains Joint Commission Certification in the care of patients with Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support. 4 East is the only acute care unit that specializes in the care of patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices, Total Artificial Hearts, and the treatment and management of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
